It's now May and I still am yet to really accomplish anything as far as art goes. A lot has happened since I last came on DeviantART- both in my life and around the world. The most important event in the news (At least from an Australian point of view), is the Black Saturday bushfires that occured in Victoria in February. There were at least 170 deaths, with hundreds more injured and the devastation it caused was chaotic, with whole towns being completely wiped out. It was horrific, and it's really awful to see your own country in such a state of turmoil. In other news, I've seen several musicals since January- Billy Elliot (Which I saw in Melbourne) and The Phantom of the Opera here in Perth. They were both really awesome and I'm hoping to now use some of these experiences as inspiration for artwork.

I've also been over to Melbourne (Which rocks, by the way) and tomorrow I'm off to Cottesloe (One of Perth's most famous beaches) to take photos. If I take any good ones they'll go up on Facebook, Live Journal and DeviantART. I'm also fairly busy with work right now (Music exams not that far away and a lot of paperwork to do for it) and don't seem to have a lot of free time. But today, I went out and bought a new set of coloured art pencils and I'm hoping that these will help with my creations. There was 25% off the original price and they're good quality, so I thought that I'd get them. My old ones are also a good brand, but I've had them for about six years and they're looking kind of shabby now. I can't wait to start testing things out!
